This statement gave rise to an announcement posted ont he Web and in the Engadiner Post: the search for a person willing and able to resist for at least three minutes while standing 'against the tide' in the icy waters of the Flaz River, which descend directly from the Morterasch glacier at over 1,800 meters in altitude. The participants in Letizia Cariello's performance will plunge into the water, one at a time, beleving they are taking part in a sports trial. But they will emerge from the river as part of a reflection on the fragility of man and on the rise of a video work, not with the intention of being an album of memories, but food for thought for the reader through a personal reflection, beginning with the images, the artist's drawings and the writings themselves, inspired by the Flaz performance.
