This book explores the history and role of hagiographies and their impact on the growth and evolution of a biographical tradition. Focusing on Ramanuja, one of the foremost reformers and Vaisnava saints, it presents the hagiographical accounts of his life within the historical context of the twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth centuries when the processes of canonization took place.
