Javier and Soledad met in Chile in a refugee camp where they decided to form a pair of convenience, having moved to Sweden with the two daughters of Soledad, until a December 29, when Javier disappears while researching the ins and outs of the war in Yugoslavia. The plot takes place in winter in Stockholm and other countries of the former Yugoslavia.
