Die Militärstrategie Seeckts

The close link between military and political strategy is underestimated. In the troubled period of the 1920s, however, the military-strategic dimension was one of the most important factors. Hans von Seeckt not only characterized the construction of the Reichswehr, but also exerted an influence on domestic policy. Karen Schäfer puts this influence of his military strategy on the political decision-makers - above all, President Friedrich Ebert and leading politicians of the government parties. It takes into account Seeckt's military-strategic objectives and the military-political means he uses, such as equipment, armament and alliances. At the same time, it presents the extent to which it is to be understood as a representative of the primacy of politics, even if this is controversial in German military history.
