About This Book
This classic study, also referred to as the “Baillie-Creelman Report,” was carried out by the Canadian Public Health Association and the Canadian Nurses Association with financial support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The carefully researched major study was the major reference for health professionals in Canada and fundamentally influenced public health policy and care in Canada for the next three decades. In particular it took a broader look at relationships between health and social welfare, especially use of the social worker in public health situations. The report was an intensive study and evaluation of public health practice, with brief summary recommendations and recommendations at the end of each chapter that, when acted upon by the various provincial jurisdictions, made a decided improvement in public health practice and especially served as a guide to a more open and flexible direction in public health nursing in Canada.
