Evaluation of Alaska harbor seal (Phoca vitulina) population surveys

Examines harbor seal population surveys in the portion of the Gulf of Alaska affected by the Exxon Valdez oil spill using computer simulation in order to evaluate alternative survey designs and effects of animal movement, variation in molt timing, inter-site trend variability, and other factors thought to affect the surveys.
