About This Book

Written in verse, the story describes the privileged life held by a young man, educated and loved by his parents, apprenticed to a trade. However, he was tempted to steal and run away, and was eventually caught, sentenced, and transported to Virginia as an indentured servant. He served out his term with two masters before he could return to his parents in England. The final verses are a caution to other young men to beware where their choices might lead.
