La politica granaria di Roma imperiale

This volume reviews the most relevant aspects of the Roman economy and analyzes the main areas of the Roman grain supply, then focuses on the territory of Gaul. Gaul was considered a secondary grain supplier for the Romans, after Africa and Egypt; those regions, however, suffered years of bad harvests. Moreover, on several occasions different authors praise Gaul for the abundance and the quality of its grain production. This study on Gallia weaves together the economic and political factors of the region with the societal aspect of its producers and production chain.
