A desperate father receives funds from a mysterious benefactor to bring his sick young child and her mother from Israel to Boston for treatment. Meanwhile, an old man has Alzheimer's and raves against a visitor about an unexplained event during or before the Holocaust; while the children try to cope with his care, two of the daughters bicker. What ties all of these together?
