About This Book
Three decades of work by Vega (b. Chile 1956) examines the technical diversity of his work, expressive proposals that penetrates his creativity. The book accounts for the work of artist Rodrigo Vega, since his student days to the work done for the exhibition of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in 2012. "In addition to being a great friend, Rodrigo was my professor of painting and drawing the four years of my undergraduate program and also I was his assistant in painting class the last year at the University of Chile, so I was lucky enough to know him and his work very well" says Maria Paz Morales, adding that she decided to focus this book on the work of Rodrigo Vega because "he is a complete artist, a 'house painter' that for almost 20 years ago taught during the day and was a painter at night, so his production comprises a great number of works, his prolific but little-known work which comprises about two hundred paintings, two hundred drawings and four hundred collages, many of which have never been exhibited in public despite the huge number of exhibitions that Rodrigo had. Whereas a heritage of this magnitude, I think it was urgent to document and also to promote his work"
