It is the story of the lives of two African American families who roots rundeep in the soil of Halifax, North Carolina. It describes the paternity of four generations who were burn at the Grove Plantation Of the aristocratic Rebel Willie Jones(pronounced) Wylie.
But more than this it is the story of two families who refused to accept slavery and how they withstook its shackles and preserveered.
