About This Book

This book, written on behalf of the poet's widow Dorothea Mason, has been some thirty years in the making. In 1998 Victoria University Press agreed to publish a revised version of Asclepius's manuscript, to be co-authored by Rachel Barrowman. Eventually it was decided - because of diverging views on R.A.K. Mason and on the nature of biography - to produce separate volumes. This is Asclepius's original text, which stands on its own or may be read as a companion volume.
