The shadow of Malreward

Lady Malreward did not love her husband, so the news of his death in Borneo at first seems welcome. But there is a strange condition to his will: in order to inherit, she must pledge herself never to marry again, but if she breaks her word, there is no penalty. The man she jilted for Sir Philip's sake wants to marry her, but then he kills himself, and the inspector investigating his death also meets a mysterious end. And when Lady Malreward finally does fall in love, the situation becomes even more complicated.
