Krieg in der Heimat

Describes the last weeks of the war in East Westphalia, S?dniedersachsen, North Hesse, Nordth?ringen, and the Harz as told from the German officer viewpoint. These areas were determined to be partially sacrificial due to the hopeless struggle of the German soldiers protecting them and by the painful efforts of the local population trying to protect their towns from final destruction and the inevitable occupation of the winner of the war. Numerous war graves are the silent, but irrefutable witnesses for these events in the Spring of 1945.
