This translation was first issued by Cratander and Bebel in Basel some months earlier (colophon: March 1532) than the present edition (colophon: August 1532) The earlier edition lacked book 6. The Giunta edition is the first to contain a Latin version of book 6, prepared specially for it by Felicianus at the request of the publisher (cf. translator's pref., p. 232) For a printing history cf.
