Biographical sketch of Eric Liddell, British gold medal winner of men's 400 metres in the Paris Olympics of 1924 and missionary to China. He was interned by the Japanese in Weihsien internment camp in Shandong Province during the Sino-Japanese War of 1937-1945. His athletic achievements were portrayed n the film Chariots of fire of 1981.
