With this Festschrift, we are honouring a great scholar whose name is not only unforgettable in the field of Islamic Studies, but who also has always made a special effort, in her own works and in translations, to open up the world of Islamic cultur to the interested layman in a language that can be understood by the non-specialist. Her main interest is Sufism, especially poetry, and also art and calligraphy.
