Abstract:
A thorough survey is made of the problems inherent in the synchronization of Parallel processes in computer systems.
Use is made of the Petri nets to develop a method which affords systematic descriptions of multi-process environments.
A variety of synchronization methods is presented as is the application of each such method in solving a typical resource allocation problem in a multi-process environment.
A simulation of a solution to the problem is made in the PL/I language.
