English Russian mathematical dictionary In two volumes, 75 000 terms / Anglo Russkij matematitshheskij slovar v 2 tomakh

In compiling the dictionary, which took more than 10 years, the author studied about 10,000 dictionaries, reference books, encyclopaedias, monographs, educational supplies, terminological standards, and periodicals. Initial card index of more than 100,000 terms was compiled. In the process of further sorting and correcting the terms, using, in particular, Mathematical Encyclopaedia in 5 volumes (Sovetskaya Encyclopaedia Publishing House, Moscow, 1977-84), more than 75,000 terms, combinations of terms, abbreviations and idioms had been selected and included into the present edition.

Англо-русский математический словарь включает в себя кроме терминологии т.н. классической математики (основания математики, математическая логика, алгебра, теория чисел, топология, геометрия, теория функций) также и разделы прикладной математики (теория графов, математический анализ, теория вероятностей, теория информации, теоретическая кибернетика, теория вычислительных систем, математическое моделирование, теория игр, комбинаторный анализ, математическое программирование, планирование операций и ряд смежных областей).

Математический словарь такого объема и содержания издается впервые.

Последнее издание англо-русского математического словаря было осуществлено Издательством иностранной литературы в 1962 г. (12,000 терминов, в т.ч. 'чисто' математических 9,000 терминов).
