National survey of transportation attitudes and behavior. Phase I summary report

Results are presented of two independent nationwide surveys using hour-long interviews and identical questionnaires to determine public preferences for individual transportation. Reliable information is needed on public attitudes and behavior relating to transportation because these factors that influence attitudes and behavior must be known. The question-by-question answer distributions are given as well as results of some cross-tabulation analysis.
