Collection of stories about a boy who lived in this west side Wichita neighborhood in the 1950s. The earlier, cowboy history of Delano is touched upon, supported by period photographs and factual research. And the flavor of the 1950s, when so much began that is pertinent today—credit cards, consumer wealth, disaffected segments of society, and modern informal living—is captured in the adventures of one boy.

DELANO can be thought of as a souvenir of decade, and a reminder of the current needs of community.
