Frans Post & Pieter Post

The brothers Frans Post, painter, and Pieter Post, architect, were known far and wide in the 17th century. Frans Post by his paintings of Brazilian landscapes and Pieter Post by the houses that he designed and built, including the Mauritshuis, Huis Ten Bosch and Maastricht's City Hall. In the 21st century their works enjoy a renewed interest, especially in Europe and Brazil. Frans Post was the first European to immortailze the exotic beauty of Brazil, Pieter had a beautiful style of building that was appreciated throughout Europe.
