About This Book
This research focused on the formal analysis of the carved polychromed wood sculptures of the Holy Family (1633) located in the chapel of San José in the Lima Cathedral, which was intended, and identified as a work by colonial sculptor Pedro Muñoz de Alvarado. The author introduces the referred sculptural group in the context of the sculptural events in Lima at the time, and above all, to determine its plastic originality by a formal comparison between the aforementioned Cathedral sculpture group and the group of sculptures attributed by the specialists to the studied period.
