Broadside canvassing support for William Roscoe for the 1807 Parliamentary election. Roscoe was a vocal abolitionist who had been elected to the House of Commons in 1806 as M.P. for Liverpool. As a member of the 1806 Parliament Roscoe participated in the vote on the abolition of the trans-Atlantic slave trade (successfully passed in the House of Commons on 22 February 1807, 283 votes to 16; the law went into effect on May 1st, 1807).
