Peter returns home to New Zealand after a decade of travelling to find a rather different country to the one he remembers. Teaching English to new migrants leads him into calamities and moral dilemmas beyond the call of duty. Besides trying to help his colourful array of puplis with their language troubles, he unwittingly assumes a role in the fate of a number of slippery characters - one of which is a real live snake. Shedding Skin is a tongue-in-cheek look at the peculiar challenges of getting by in a foreign culture.
