Exploratory probe analysis into the misuse of illicit drugs amongst 400 14-17 year olds from North and West Belfast

This survey was carried out by Vernon, Jo for the Dunlewey Substance Advice Centre in 1992 in North and West Belfast; 400 young people aged 14-17 years old were involved in the survey. The sample came from schools, YTP schemes and youth clubs.

Main findings
•44.5% of respondents said they had used illicit drugs;
•35.5% of respondents reported current use;
•the most popular illicit drugs were cannabis, LSD, Ecstasy and amphetamines.
