Human ecology in space flight II

Abstract: The "Physiological Consequences of Prolonged Inactivity" was discussed at a conference looking at the effects of space on humans. Topics discussed include: space environment and its simulation; psychological and neuromuscular problems arising from prolonged inactivity; bone-body fluid continuums as influenced by prolonged inactivity; energy reserves, water and temperature controls in minimal environment. References are listed. Other factors (e.g., weightlessness) must be considered in future conferences. (kbc)
