About This Book

Con-Temporánea is a digital magazine published by INAH that came up with the idea to edit, in physical format, two books and a newspaper whose main theme was the earthquakes that have hit Mexico, especially the one recorded on September 19, 2017 and covers architecture, documentary photography, patrimony, and the documentation of the affected population. In the case of "El patrimonio vivo y los pueblos" (Living Heritage and People) the edition comprises a total of 17 texts. These are interviews and testimonies of architects, restaurateurs, managers and staff of INAH centers, about their experiences in restoring the affected heritage. While "Terremoto 19-S. Voces e imágenes" (Earthquake 19-S. Voices and images), is a testimonial about the citizens perception -particularly of Mexico City- about the destruction caused by these natural phenomena.
