About This Book

The book documents the vernacular architecture in the Mexican northern states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo Le on and Tamaulipas; and focuses mainly on the rural area. Architect Pablo Landa Ruiloba and Dr. Camilo Contreras coordinated photographers, architects, artists and cultural promoters, so that, through interdisciplinary work, the built patrimony was approached from diverse perspectives that complement each other and enter into dialogue with each other. In the form of a graphic novel the book collects the ways of living, the materials used, the construction techniques and with interviews with the inhabitants formulates a history of the landscape of the region and combines photographs with architectural surveys of some of the structures and illustrations.
