In the center of newsphotographs stands very often a politician, a star or a criminal. A cut is made through the picture, so the main ?gure disappears. The set-up, the entourage, the odyguards, the curious and the admirers come into focus. The presence of the absent can be felt. Now the ambiguity of these images can be seen: between reality and ?ction, incident and event, theater and politics.
