About This Book

Africa is our cradle, the continent from which we all descend, the continent that has given me unique emotions, because when you return from a trip to Africa, you understand what the "African sickness" means, because if you experience the African continent as a traveler and not as a tourist, the breath of this continent enters your soul and every time you see a photo or video of your trip or that of another traveller, you will feel that breath rising inside you and a new journey will have just begun. This book is a summary of my travel experiences in Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The Kruger is the "African" park par excellence, with its 20 thousand square km it is one of the largest natural parks in the world, a nature reserve that is home to almost all of Africa's biodiversity, home to many species at risk of extinction, preserving their safety, such as the White Rhinoceros which, thanks to the Kruger park, has found an oasis of salvation and hope for its survival. I have made numerous trips to the Kruger, traveling far and wide, and this book is a summary of these experiences, but it is also a tool that I dedicate to those who want, first through reading, and then I hope also through direct experience, to experience a journey in this magical place, which I have been lucky enough to visit and I hope to have the opportunity to visit, many more times.
If the Kruger National Park exists, it is certainly thanks to its founders who, at the end of the nineteenth century, understood the importance of creating a reserve, but it is especially so today thanks to the activity of the SANParks Organization and all those who work and collaborate to preserve the existence of this great African park, designated by UNESCO as an "international man and biosphere reserve". At that time? Are you coming on a trip with me? The journey is about to begin... make yourself comfortable, or rather, uncomfortable, not all the roads in the Kruger park and in life are smooth and asphalted.
