A troop carrier pilot's story of World War II

An account of the author's experiences as a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot in North Africa and Italy during the second World War, including an account of the invasion of Sicily and rescue missions into Nazi occupied Yugoslavia. The author's war experiences are framed by memories of his childhood love of airplanes and the fulfillment of his dream of flying. The story is illustrated with the author's photographs and sketches.
