About This Book

Luzius Wildhaber celebrated his 70th birthday on 18 January 2007 and retired as president of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg. His former students teaching in different Swiss universities, took this opportunity to honour his broad and diverse contribution as an academic and a judge in the fields of constitutional and international law through this book dedicated to him. They had been personally linked to him since his time as a professor at the univeristy of Basel and a member of various courts, and as judge at the ECtHR. This liber amicorum combines contributions written in English, German and French by friends, students and colleagues.
