About This Book
Throughout his career Igo Manglano-Ovalle's work has questioned the relationships between various aspects of contemporary life and historical constructs by focusing on the development of technology, race, identity, modernism, political imposition and social hierachies. The works selected for this exhibition are arranged into three basic themes: identity and color (race), Dante's purgatory and politcs of power of DNA portraits shown alongside 5 18th century casta paintings.
