The book provides first hand accounts of the Japanese invasion and occupation of Singapore. The author himself also inputs some historical facts which are in accordance with the education materials used in Secondary schools of Singapore. Some accounts refer to battles, hard times, suffering, atrocities, discontentment with the colonial authorities, etc.
