The book contains eleven chapters authored by academics and intellectuals from the fields of political science, history, sociology, and law, and includes a Foreword by Congressman José E. Serrano. A research essay by Bosque-Pérez (“Political Persecution against Puerto Rican Anti-Colonial Activists in the Twentieth Century”) serves as the opening chapter of the book.
