This book showcases the work of some of the masters of the form in modern Gaelic literature, Liam O'Flaherty, Pádraic Ó Conaire, Seosamh MacGrianna, Séamus Ó Grianna and Dáithí Ó Muirí, and makes them accessible to a new audience. The authors' treatment of death, the theme of this collection, runs the gamut of emotions, sometimes bleak, sometimes matter-of-fact, and sometimes surprisingly comic.
