22-year-old Brandy writes about growing up in Deep River, Ontario, Canada. She writes about her abusive, alcoholic and distant mother and her siblings, including her sister who was a stripper. Brandy chronicles her childhood and encounters with girl hate and surviving rape. Her stories include specific instances such as taking an AIDS/HIV test, getting over drug addiction, her promiscuity, being in the gifted program in high school, developing panic attacks in college, and moving in with her first long-term boyfriend with whom she broke up at the end of the zine. Additional elements include cut and paste images and movie stills and a soundtrack listing.
