The book describes how the decendents of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the Sikh Chiefs of the Army and the Dogra Chiefs fought among themselves. As a result, the army became weak and lost the wars against the British in 1839. Finally, the Sikh Empire was included in the British Empire in 1939.
