The book is about the deterioration of the Sikh Empire after the death of its founder Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the great Sikh ruler. The book describes how the decendents of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the Sikh Chiefs of the Army and the Dogra Chiefs fought among themselves. As a result, the army became weak and lost the wars against the British in 1839. Finally, the Sikh Empire was included in the British Empire in 1939. The book contains Vaars-the poetry of bravery besides the prose.
