"The book is dedicated to the study of miniatures in Armenian manuscripts of the XII - XVII centuries, in which theatrical subjects are reflected. Three key issues are considered: 1. construction of the stage; 2. basic images and genres, formed in the pre-Christian period and developed in Middle Ages; 3. reconstruction of the liturgical theater (decorations, subjects, terminology). The analysis of the miniatures is conducted on the basis of ethnographic data, ancient rituals and calendar rites.
