Ihanien aikojen loppu

This book is published in conjunction with a retrospective exhibition on photographer Hannele Rantala in the Finnish Museum of Photography that includes works from 1975 to 2015, offering a comprehensive overview of her artistic career. Although it spans four decades, there is clear continuity in the themes, as the works explore departures, homelessness, and changes, along with borders and liminal situations. Rantala, a long-time expatriate, possesses a great deal of experience in such issues. Structured in part chronologically, the book illustrates the changes that have taken place in her own oeuvre. Each section includes an explanatory, often autobiographical, text by Rantala. Exhibition: Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki, Finland (24.04-02.08.2015).
