This volume takes into account the daily life of historical figures in the Risorgimento: the more intimate aspects of their characters, the places of their formation and of their deeds. It reconstructs how the tables that they sat at were set, the typical products, native wines, the recipes of the period, and where survive the inns and and eating places that they visited.
