About This Book

The Tiger as Symbol
The tiger lives off other animals. The weaker creatures must be sacrificed to the tiger's needs. But we cannot blame the tiger for this. Its behaviour seems horrible to us, but it only does what it must in order to survive. Tigers, though they are feared by other animals, are neither good nor bad. Humans, on the other hand, are genuinely terrible. They have the ability to think and to reason, yet use this ability to destroy others. Though laws, physical force and cunning, they subjugate others for their own benefit. This type of behaviour one can see everywhere in the world. Mbatha's dream is see the day when tigers can live together in peace with the rest of creation. "do not know when, or even if, this can even happen, but we must work that it will.
