About This Book

Methodical Encyclopedia is one of the most ambitious encyclopedic projects and richest in the history of knowledge. It is the result of an editorial adventure of 50 years, started by Charles Joseph Panckoucke (1736-1798) in 1782, continued by his son Henri Agasse until 1793, before finally being completed in 1832 by his daughter, Pauline. It is 43 dictionaries by subject and spread over 203 volumes. This is the project that this book presents.
