Pauline Krueger was born in Schlohau in West Prussia in 1866. In 1883 her family came to America, settling in Dodge City, Kansas. Pauline married Albert Bayer the same year. In 1888, they moved west to Wyoming, eventually settling near what later became the town of Pinedale.
