About This Book
"From the introduction: In my early years of life in China, I witnessed a foreign invasion followed by a civil war and natural calamities accompanied by human disasters. As an exiled student, I journeyed and lived through three provinces, Shandong, Anhui, and Shaanxi, as I completed my high school studies. In addition, I traveled and lived in Shaanxi, Henan , and Jiangsu provinces, as I pursued my college studies and ultimately earned my doctoral degree. During those years, little stories in historical times are easily forgotten because of the passage of time and change of surroundings, and significant events that occurred during those historical times were concealed and distorted for political reasons. Therefore, I decided to write down my own experiences and reflections, based on what I saw, heard, and felt. Three years ago, at the age of eighty, I finished my autobiography in both Chinese and English. The Chinese language version was published, but the English version was not. For those who cannot read Chinese, I decided after long thought to publish the English version titled, "Transplanting Life" "--excerpt, Author's Note.
