Silent world, muffled world

This 28-minutes, captioned film traces the development of public attitudes towards deaf citizens. It discusses when and how education for the deaf was begun and demonstrates a class being tought at Gallaudet College for the deaf. The video describes the hearing mechanism, explains the types ofconditions which cause hearing losses and emphasizes the deed for research. It end with a discussion of the social problems faced by the deaf population.
