James Freney was an outlaw and highwayman in the 18 th century. He robbed the landlords homes and shared his booty with the poor.He was a Robin Hood type character who became known as "The Gentleman Robber." He operated all over Leinster and is regarded as one of Irelands most famous Highwaymen. His courage and bravery was unequelled in his time and his adventures are recalled to this present day.
