About This Book

The result of the maturing of its extensive photographic research, the book of Luiz Braga (b. Belém, Brazil 1956), brings together 80 images taken over more than two decades of pilgrimage for the Amazon region. The organization of the edition was made by the theoretician of photography Eder Chiodetto and design by visual artist Pinky Wainer. Whether in processions, festivals or the simplicity of the life of the caboclo (Brazilian of Indian or mixed Indian and white ancestry), the lens of the photographer brings detail and chromatic vibrations present in idyllic, sometimes urban, now abundant in Northern culture with which Braga has so much intimacy. The work also presents a list of more than 70 exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, in addition to artist's own texts.
