Covers topics ranging from familiar textile types, such as costumes, to more unusual applications in suitcases, wall hangings, furniture, and theatre scenery while other papers prompt the reader to reconsider what makes a textile modern. The papers are structured to take the reader from the creation and interpretation of artworks into the realm of understanding their deterioration pathways, to arrive at a number of considerations for their treatment.
